The scope for this garden was food & flowers.  The clients were hoping for a planting plan with hardy plants for their hot and windy/exposed site while having pops of colour.  The design starts with the entrance and exposed slopes planted in grasses which create a subtle movement when the sea breezes flow through them. Lined with a hedge for shelter a vegetable garden area hugs the house to allow close access for harvesting and maintaining. 
A staircase provides access to the below food forest of Orchard trees and Ornamentals.  A chook house positioned behind the shed adjacent to a mixture of native planting which merge into the boarding Manuka for which the chooks can roam.  A grass path winds around the property to a Labyrinth and allows access to other parts of the site. A large paddock newly planted with natives to regenerate bush which will add biodiversity and merge into the existing adjacent native bush area.
